| High vigor Live Rock Bands to See at Concerts
One of my favorite hobbies is going to see live bands give concerts. There bands I have seen once and wouldn't rush back, whereas some bands I have seen many times. There are also those that I haven't got nearby to seeing yet, but intend to. |
|
There are some bands who are naturally unforgettable and I go nearby singing their songs for days after. If you, like me, are fortunate adequate to live in a city with a great live music scene, try and catch these bands if you can. Contemporary instruments blend with Southern rock to make the music that My Morning Jacket play with great aplomb. This Kentucky band finds the mix perfectly and put on a helluva show. If you want to see a young band that displays pure energy and gives their all in every performance, then you will love them. On lead vocals is the charismatic Jim James who holds the audience in his hand as if they are hypnotized. Do not think that a concert by a piano player is boring; it is whatever but when the pianist in demand is Ben Folds. His shows are superior and I have never seen any other pianist put on such shows. This man is naturally a genius, if I told you what he could do with a piano you wouldn't believe me, so go and see for yourself. His shows aren't merely concerts; they are events that will have you talking about if for weeks afterward. My last choice is a band you will have heard, but if you haven't yet seen them get yourself there at the first opportunity. A Pearl Jam show is like no other. This band makes more endeavor for the fans than any other I've known. They keep their marker prices down so every person can have a occasion to see them live. Whether you like their older stuff or the new material, you will get all things played with great energy. High vigor Live Rock Bands to See at Concerts |

The Land of Nod - Where Was it and What Was Going on There?
| The Land of Nod - Where Was it and What Was Going on There?
Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the East of Eden (Genesis 4:16, The Holy Bible, KJV). |
|
In A Land Called Nod Cain went and dwelt in the land of Nod. This is the Hebrew nowd (node) and it means the aimless wandering of a fugitive. It rises from the primitive root nuwd (nood). In the Authorized Standard Version (King James) it is translated bemoan 7 times, remove 5 times, vagabond 2 times, flee 1 time, get 1, mourn 1, move 1, pity 1, shaken 1, skippedst 1, sorry 1, wag 1, and wandering 1 for a total of 24 occurrences in the Hebrew Bible. Its various meanings are: to shake, waver, move to and fro, show grief, have compassion on, wander (aimlessly), take flight, to flutter, to shake, to lament, condole, show sympathy, to make a wagging, and to wag (with the head). Nod was a God-forsaken region. Cain was reduced to this when he rejected God and His blessings.
It was on the East of Eden. The East is the Hebrew qidmah (kid-maw'). In literal terms it means forward, front, east, antiquity, in front of, over against, or to front on. It is closely related to eastward which is the Hebrew qedmah (kayd'-maw) and has the additional meanings of that which is before, aforetime, from of old, earliest time, of old (adverb), or beginning. Often it is a Biblical symbol for wisdom. It can mean the Wisdom of God or it can mean the wisdom of natural man or fallen principalities (the devil and his cohorts). The Garden was placed by God in the east part of the inside of Eden. This was a realm that was to be governed by the ancient and eternal wisdom of God. The word east also means ancient and can imply eternal. This was the good wisdom because it was what God had Himself used and in a limited sense made available to man in the Garden in order to provide for man. But remember that evil also pre-existed, not as an actuality until Satan and Adam came along to express it, but as an antithesis to that which was good. The opposite of good was also from antiquity, ancient, and eternal. God said, in Genesis 3:22, that He possessed that knowledge all along. Then Adam acquired that knowledge and now Cain has it. Nod is outside the Garden. It is not in the East of Eden, but on the East of Eden. It is no accident that Cain went looking for Eden and camped just as close to it as he could get. He is going to try, by that ancient wisdom of the East but which is not of God, to regain that which he has lost. He will build his own world. He will give it his own philosophy. It will be his own kingdom and he will rule it his own way. He will carve his own epitaph before he dies: I Did It My Way! The Futile World of the Vagabond The hopelessness of Cain's misguided dreams of empire was established before Cain was born. God placed Cherubim with flaming swords at the gate at the East of Eden to keep man, by that wisdom which was from the East but which originated from outside of Eden-which man had allowed to come into Eden, and did not come from God-from re-entering the Garden of Eden and finding the Tree of Life. Following the lead of their ancient father, religious and secular humanists are still today trying to go back into the old Eden by the philosophy, science, education, and religion, and with the same success as Cain had. Cain's Efforts to Rid Himself of Guilt The first effort of Cain had to do with his own philosophy of discipline. This was the thing that was the bitterness in his soul now. His problem was no longer Abel because Abel was dead and could not hurt him. It was the unfair way in which God had disciplined him. His punishment was unreasonable, unloving, and unnecessary in Cain's view. Now Cain was experiencing bitter regret at what he had done. Regret is not the same as repentance. Most men regret the things they have done which have brought them guilt but they are not repentant. Like Cain, they are not sorry for what they have done to their family, their friends, to their parents, and to God. They are only sorry for themselves and for that of which they think they have deprived themselves. This is exactly how it was with Cain. Enoch-The Man and the City He named his first son Enoch. This is the Hebrew word Chanowk (khan-oke') and it means dedicated, disciplined, initiated, or trained up. Cain named the city that he built Enoch, or the City of Discipline and Training. Like many a guilty father, Cain tried to put his guilt trips off on his son: That boy would never make the mistakes his father made; Cain would see to that. Adam had been too easy on him. He let him roam the fields, look out for himself, do his own thinking, and come to his own conclusions. What a mistake this had been on Adam's part. If Cain had had more supervision-if Adam had shown a little more interest in him and kept a little closer control over him, how differently things might have been. Adam had known that there were mortal dangers stalking Cain; lying in wait outside his door as God Himself had put it. Still, Adam let Cain go his way and fend for himself. He never taught Cain to obey and to respect authority. If he had done so, Cain might have listened and this would not have happened. Cain would not make that mistake with Enoch. He would beat the devil out of that wayward, headstrong child if necessary to train him and make him respect authority. As in the case of Cain and Enoch, rebellion usually does not happen in the first generation, but in the second. Enoch named his son Irad. This is the Hebrew `Iyrad (ee-rawd') and it means fleet of foot, or in other words, a runaway or a fugitive. This shows that Enoch not only considered himself and his family to be fugitives from God, but that he hoped his son would have the courage which he lacked to break away from this legalistic city and look for truth in some other place and way. As soon as he was old enough, Irad did flee from Cain and his heartless religion. But like those who had gone before him, he continued to be religious. Irad looked for God and for truth. He did have a conscience, and felt the sting of God's judgment on his grandfather and his children. He named his son Mehujael. This is the Hebrew M^echuwyaOel (mekh-oo-yaw-ale') or MechiyyaOel (mekh-ee-yaw-ale') which means Smitten of God. Irad's view of God had been clouded by the cruel, autocratic religion of his grandfather. The only God he knew was the one who had reportedly mistreated Cain and who had caused him, who professed to be right and to honor God, to brutalize his own father. Mahujael was committed to religion and to God and named his son Methusael. This is the word MethuwshaOel (meth-oo-shaw-ale') which means the man who is of God. No doubt this came from his tradition and his sincere interest in God and his family origins. He had heard the stories of how Eve had said of his grandfather, "I have gotten a man from the Lord." Methusael tried to live up to this name and tradition and became a religious teacher, passing along to his son the old stories. But like all religious humanism-the good intentions and the best efforts of man instead of that which is of God-every effort failed. The stories and the lessons became distorted and things went from bad to worse. Religion-Not Faith Nowhere in this line of Cain is their any mention of Abel's sacrifice and of any of Cain's descendants bringing the blood sacrifice. No doubt this was not a part of their religious heritage. This was the thing that had brought about Cain's downfall, and it is most likely that he did not encourage it among his people. Indeed, he may have kept it from them entirely. Like their infamous patriarch, Cain's decedents believed in the inherent goodness of man, in religion, in good works, and in doing the best one could. They dwelt on the East of Eden. A Throw-Back Methusael, the man who is of God, begat Lamech; and he becomes sort of the summom bonnum, not only of Cain's line, but of the line of religious humanism. The meaning of the name Lamech is a bit difficult and obscure. Extensive studies of this Hebrew name have turned up some probabilities that are in keeping with the events taking place but precision is illusive. Caution needs to be exercised with the meanings given for this name. The name Lamech, or Lemech' in the Hebrew, appears to have two almost completely divergent meanings. One applies to this Lamech who is of Cain and the other to the father of Noah, who was also named Lamech but who descended from Seth. As it applies to this Lamech, the name means: to present (as a mercenary argument), to bargain with a harlot, and to hire in the bad sense, as for sinister uses. Adah Lamech had two wives. The name of the first was Adah. This name is not difficult. It is the Hebrew `Adah (aw-daw') and it means to adorn, to deck oneself out, to make advances, to take away. It would appear to be conveying the information that Adah was a harlot when Lamech met and married her. The name of his other wife was Zillah. This is the Hebrew word Tsillah (tsil-law') which means a shade, a shadow, or a protection. The contrast in personalities between these two girls may be dramatized in the difference between "A" and "Z," (though that may be going a little far with symbolism). This is describing a quiet woman, a home-body, a protective mother and wife; and probably indicates someone who had little or no flair about her. There are lots of Lamechs around today; men who have a fast, flashy, gaudy, and tawdry woman to run with; and a good old girl to go home to. Jabal To Lamech and Adah were born two sons. The name of the first was Jabal. The Hebrew word for this name is Yabal (yaw-bawl') and means a water course, or a wandering, meandering stream. Jabal was a wanderer. He drifted in the far out, lonely regions and made his living by keeping sheep. He slept under the stars and drank from the streams. Like the desert nomads, he had no one spot to call home. He just drifted. Jubal The name of the other was Jubal. This word, which is Yuwbal (yoo-bawl') literally means a blast. Ordinarily this would be the blast of the trumpet, as in the Year of Jubilee, which actually is a word that derives from this name and is very close to it. But in this case we do not think that this was the blast of a trumpet since no trumpet is mentioned here, but the harp and the organ are identified. The name also has something to do with a river or a brook running or singing along and apparently means a singer. In other words, this Jubal was a noise-maker. The language indicates that his music and his singing were loud, raucous, and grating. So you see nothing much has changed during the history of man. A smooth talking man marries a fast woman and they have one son who is a hippie, a beachcomber, a dropout from society; and the other is a musician. The latter hangs out in taverns twanging away on his strings and singing in his loud, nasal songs about this hard livin' but well meanin' old boy-the role model for the bar crowd-who cannot make up his mind about which one of the two women he really wants. The Other Side of the "Family" Zillah also gave Lamech two children; the one a boy and the other a girl. The boy's name was Tubal-cain. The name is the two-part Hebrew word Tuwbal Qayin (too-bal'-kah'-yin). The first part of the name, Tubal, means an instructor. In that context, it also means to bring, to carry, to lead, or to produce. The name Cain means a fixed spear or a lance ready to strike through. Apparently Tubal-cain made, and taught others how to make, weapons out of brass and iron. A Departure from Religion-or is it? In case it has escaped you the decedents of Cain, by these accounts, were more religious on the whole than the descendants of Seth though they were not righteous by faith. This occupation of Tubal-cain would seem at first blush to be a wide departure from that tradition. Yet we must bear in mind that Cain, the patriarch of this religious system, was an ill-tempered and violent man who had killed his innocent brother over religious differences. Some of the most warring and violent men in history, such as Constantine and King Richard, were religious leaders and carried out their violence in the name of religion. In recent times we have had religious violence in Ireland, Yugoslavia, and the Middle East. In the west, the religious fundamentalists are the most hawkish, pro-military, and ready to propose violence as the solution to many problems national and international. Perhaps religion is a root cause for what Tubal-cain did. The motivation behind Tubal-cain's vocation is not clear. In a few verses is is revealed that in his day men were violent and bloodshed and wickedness were great in the earth. Perhaps it was as simple as supply and demand. One thing is clear, however. The anthropologists and evolutionists are wrong again. Men were born with the abilities to make bronze and to work with metal. They did not acquire the ability through the years from the caveman and stone ages, neither one of which ever existed on this earth. Naamah the Agreeable One Just what to make of the girl Naamah is not clear. Her name is the Hebrew Na`amah (nah-am-aw') and it means agreeable, pleasant, graceful, beautiful, sweet, and easy to get on with. It may be that this is describing one of Cain's descendants that was a genuinely nice person. But there is some indication that this is not trying to porftray good character. It may be that this is describing a beautiful, but gullible girl who was an easy mark for the men who came into her life. She certainly was raised in that kind of environment; though Zilliah may have been able to protect her from it. The Original Religious Humanist Manifesto The inevitable end of religious humanism is underscored in the little story that Lamech had to tell his two wives ". . . I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt." The reason that he gave is a bit obscure and there are different opinions on it. Some think two men had set in upon him to kill him. The one had wounded him and the other was trying to finish him off. Others think that Lamech was confessing, as no doubt he had heard Cain doing many times, that he had let his temper get away from him and committed two very unfortunate murders for which he would suffer reproach and probably vengeance from their people. But his motives are really not the significant thing here. It is his reasoning that is fascinating. He said that his great, great, great grandfather had killed a man and that God had shown mercy to him and pledged vengeance seven-fold to the man who would do him hurt. That being the case, God would avenge Lamech seventy and seven-fold because he had killed two men. Now, you would have thought that Lamech would have been content with fourteen-fold, but no, he went for it all. He was not even content with multiplying. He carried 7 to the eleventh power. Modern Day Lamechs The tendency is to laugh a laugh of scorn and unbelief at the cheekiness of this warped fellow, but there is scarcely a better example in the Scripture to amplify what has happened in religious humanism and legalistic religion today. There is a great cry that goes up for leniency and mercy and help for the law-breaker. This is true whether you are talking about the immoral person, the rebel, and the backbiter in the church, the revolutionary who is trying to overthrow the government, or the rapist, or the murder. Religious leaders and groups come forward by the hundreds and thousands to help these poor people and defend their rights as fellow human beings. But one would be hard pressed to find a single pastor or religious group who is committed to anything meaningful for the victims of these heartless, selfish, and sinister people. It makes no difference to these bleeding hearts that some poor wife, with her hungry children, is sitting at home neglected and frightened because her husband pulled out and left her for some young hussy. There is no mileage to be had by these modern day Lamechs in sticking up for righteous causes. The whole noise in the church is made about not interfering in other people's business, not judging, and not doing anything to hurt the feelings of this poor fellow who really cannot help it that he does not have enough character and sense of responsibility to honor his vows and provide for his wife and family. We have to treat murderers and rapists as if they were honored guests, give them their own cell with all of the amenities of home, provide them a shelter for their nefarious deeds, and turn them out on the street for the tiniest legal irregularity. As it Was in the Days of Noah One of the reasons that we know it is the end of the age is because of this mentality. This is the way it was just before God pronounced judgment on the old world and sent the Flood, and Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Noah...(Luke 17:26). Remember that Cain was a very religious man and Cain's line were very religious; but it was all humanism. It was a religion that was not only out of harmony with God's instructions but it was puffy and defiant of God for His judgments and His disciplines. This spirit is very evident in the false world of religious humanism-often called fundamental and evangelical. Like Cain, religious humanists today think that-by this arrogance, by this rebellion, by these popular movements, and by these tactics-they will bully their way back into Eden and find that Tree of Life; but they will not. No one has ever gotten past the death angel and no one ever will. Those are a few of the many lessons that can be learned from the Land of Nod and the society of Cain. The Dos and Don'ts of Attending a Punk Rock Concert
| The Dos and Don'ts of Attending a Punk Rock Concert
My first punk rock concert was my sophomore year of high school. My brother was in college at the time and bought a label for my friend and I. We made the voyage arrangements for the weekend and were very much excited for the concert that included Less Than Jake and New Found Glory. While my brother did give me helpful hints, I left the concert losing some cash, obtaining a sprained ankle, and had a number of bruises to top it all off. In hopes that everything goes safely for others, I plan I'd share some guidance I have learned after going to a countless number of punk rock concerts. |
|
First off, you want to be ready as much as inherent especially in what you wear and bring. With punk rock concerts regularly packed with people, you'll want to pack as minute as possible. So males will not want to bring their wallet and females will not want to bring their purse. I say this because those things can positively get lost in the crowd (especially if you want to "crowd surf"). But the main things you'll want to bring is the ticket, cash, and an Id (if you're underage or would like to purchase alcohol). everything else can positively be left in your car, but make sure you put the items you do bring in your front pockets to ensure they won't get stolen or fall out. If the venue allows pictures being taken though, you may think bringing your camera, but remember this may be an issue if you're being pushed nearby in the front and don't want it to be damaged. In preparation, what should you wear? This positively depends on you, but I personally would advise to wear pants instead of shorts and shoes instead of sandals. If you plan to make your way to the front, you'll want pants as you'll be getting kicked nearby a bit and will need the extra protection. Also, if you think sandals will be okay, just dream hundreds of population stepping on your toes. Also, bringing a sweatshirt or wearing a long sleeve shirt is not a good idea. As you'll soon find out the venues will be very hot and you'll have nowhere to put your extra clothes. Unless of procedure the venue is exterior in a cooler climate, then it would be a good idea. Now that you're all ready to go, the fun can begin. But there are a few things you may want to know before you get too crazy. First off, you must think of where you would like to position yourself for the concert. If you want to stay in the back, just make sure you're behind "the pit" as this is something where population enjoy throwing each other nearby in a big circle. It can positively be painful if you accidentally get hit by someone, so watch out! But if you're like most people, you came to see one of your beloved band and dammit, you're going to be in the front! One thing to remember though is that there are occasion bands, so you may want to wait to position yourself when the band you want to see performs as the crowd may already be packed and you'll be drained by the time your band steps up to play. While struggling to get to the front may leave population a bit angry as you push through, just try to be nice about it and use the words "excuse me" so population don't start pushing you nearby for bumping into them. While you may want to rush to the front to see "your band" during a set change, you may also want to think waiting a song or two before going ahead to the front. This is because every person has the same idea to rush to the front during a set turn and standing hand in hand with population waiting for sometimes over a half an hour can feel like eternity. Also, this way all the pushing and craziness seems to settle down a bit and you can ease your way in. Finally, two aspects of a concert that may be the most worrisome are two things called, "crowd surfing" and "the pit." If you make your way to the front of a large group, make sure you're aware that population will positively crowd surf as elbows, heads, and feet all may hit you unexpectedly. Also, make sure if you have earrings to take them out before you go to the front. My brother had a friend who's earring was positively ripped off as a girl's purse ripped it off as she was crowd surfing. Not good, huh. So that's other thing to think about. As far as the pit goes, if you want to be apart of population just running into each other, crazy dancing, and mostly dudes just proving their masculinity, this may be for you. But for most, it's not. regularly this forms in the middle, behind the front line of people. Even if you're not apart of it, make sure you're a merge feet away so population don't run into you. From experience, I advise going stage right or stage left to avoid these intense people. Overall, I encourage anyone to attend concerts and reserve the music they love. I hope by reading this you can maximize your fun and also be as safe as possible. The Dos and Don'ts of Attending a Punk Rock Concert |

Date Idea #61 - Go Bowling Together
| Date Idea #61 - Go Bowling Together
When it comes to great date ideas remember it is all about having fun and at the very least giving something new a try. |
|
Bowling is one of those activities that most people have tried at least once but for the most part it tends to fall under either you like it or you are indifferent to it. In other words, not too many women are completely opposed to the idea of going bowling especially if it means that they will get to spend some quality time with you. As a first date, unless you are on tour with the PBA (Pro Bowlers Association) and bowling is your life, you are going to want to stay away from the lanes for those first few dates, and instead invite her into the other areas of your life to begin with. Once you reach the transitional phase of dating bowling is a great fun filled activity for the two of you to do and it gives you a chance to admire her back side when it is her turn to bowl. Of course, for those of you who are in long term or committed relationships, joining a bowling league might be something fun and interesting the two of you can do together or for starters you can try it out for a night or two as bowling is pretty much an everyday type of opportunity. Although, bowling is one of those things where you definitely want to call ahead to make sure that they have lanes available and/or there aren't any tournaments
In the end, going bowling together is a great opportunity for the two of you to have fun knocking down some pins together once you have gotten to know her for a bit. Date Idea #61 - Go Bowling Together |

History of the Schecter Guitar
| History of the Schecter Guitar
The Schecter Guitar Research repair shop was opened in 1976 by David Schecter in Van Nuys, California. This is where it all began for the future guitar manufacturing company. The repair shop manufactured replacement guitar parts and eventually supplied everything you would need to build a guitar but did not build any of their own guitars at that time. Their main customers were custom repair shops and the two big guitar-manufacturing companies, Gibson and Fender. |
|
Finally in 1979, Schecter started making their own guitars to sell to the public. The designs were based on Fender guitar designs and were very expensive to purchase because of the high quality parts and the small amount they made available. Also around this time, Pete Townshend from The Who got a Schecter guitar from his guitar tech and immediately liked it. In fact he liked the sound so much that it ended up being his main touring guitar. Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits was the next high profile artist to discover the Schecter guitar. He ended up with many Schecter guitars over the years and one even sold at an auction for ,000 in 2004. In 1983, Schecter ran out of resources and could no longer meet the demand for their guitar. Schecter ended up selling the company to a group of Texas investors who were well aware of the great reputation of the Schecter name and the top quality of their guitars. Knowing this, the new owners expected to make a profit by expanding the operation and moving the company to Dallas, Texas. This unfortunately turned out to be a bad move because most of the original employees wouldn't move to Texas and this eventually led to poor design and quality decisions by the new staff. The guitars that were being produced at this time were being mass-produced and getting a bad reputation for their poor quality. Even though they were going through this rough time, Schecter did manage to get an amazing guitarist by the name of Yngwie Malmsteen to endorse their guitars. They also released several new models including the Telecaster style guitar that Pete Townshend was using called the Saturn. Their other popular model was the Scorcher, which was based on the Stratocaster design. Even with these new designs and making their guitars more affordable, sales were very poor due to the lack of quality. In 1987, the company was unloaded to a Japanese entrepreneur by the name of Hisatake Shibuya. Hisatake was no stranger to music and guitars; he also owned ESP Guitars and the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. He moved Schecter back to California and soon brought the reputation of the company back to the way it used to be. The company went back to their old ways of producing high quality, high priced custom guitars. The guitars were also made in fewer numbers and made available to a smaller amount of dealers. In 1996, Hisatake hired Michael Ciravolo as president of Schecter. Michael was an experienced musician and had been an employee at a guitar shop owned by Hisatake. Ciravolo ended up bringing in some high profile musicians to endorse Schecter guitars including Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots) and Sean Yseult (White Zombie). Michael Ciravolo also disliked the Fender style designs, so he developed new designs in the Avenger, Hellcat and Tempest models. He also wanted to produce a more affordable guitar and opened up a factory in Inchon, South Korea to build them. This time though, Michael made sure that they were high quality guitars as well as being mass-produced. The parts were made in the South Korean factory and then shipped to their U.S. shop for the guitars to be assembled. This led to the creation of the famous Diamond Series Schecter Guitars. The Schecter Guitar Company is still going strong today and is loved by mostly the Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Alternative styles of music. Some of the most famous guitarists past and present that have used Schecter guitars are Pete Townshend (The Who), Prince, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Shaun Morgan (Seether), Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), Jerry Horton (Papa Roach), Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance (Avenged Sevenfold), Paul Raven (Killing Joke and Ministry) and Sean Yseult (White Zombie). Band Website Templates
| Band Website Templates
An indispensable element in becoming thriving in new music in the gift day is using the net properly. And by properly, I am talking about developing a definitive web existence, given that a lot more people are living on-line (smartphones, iPhones, Fb and Twitter accounts, etc.). |
|
Probably the most indispensable thing you as a band member, or just about any musician can do is to form a well made, eye-catching webpage. Your internet-site stands out as the converging place of your online presence, it of course is the place others will see your music and songs and your image, it is where you should grow your group of fans, in increasing to being where you can make money using your music. Rather than creating a site from scratch, costing hundreds, or even 1000s of dollars for the layout and coding, maybe you should rule on a set to go solution. Conducting a quick quest for band website templates gives you a variety of prebuilt web templates from which to select. Although not all are great, there are a few that could skyrocket your web presence. You will not need to learn elucidate programming languages either, because these band web themes control using WordPress or maybe Joomla, which are platforms which will make supervising sites a piece of cake. You'll need to be cautious to pick out a theme which will fulfill all of your increasing necessities. The following are the most crucial elements you should seek out: Discography It doesn't matter if you are a musician or an orchestra, you've got albums where you gift your music. Your website ought to help to make the delivery of your albums straightforward for you, and eye-catching for the website viewers. If the band website template you are looking at does not make this possible, go somewhere else. Adding new cds and music on your site should be straightforward, and make obvious the template also has a music player integrated. Album Sales Just what is the smartest way your band can start earning money? Marketing your music of course! You could obviously store your music files on iTunes, or the Amazon marketplace, but this would set you back indispensable money due to the third party's commission fees. The best band website templates enable you to store your music on the website, therefore you receive 100% of your wage by selling your band's music and songs directly from your web site, round the clock, seven days per week, all automatically. The transaction processor enterprise also happens to be important, you will want to be of course sure your visitors will have the ability to make their purchase with all major bank cards. Your site visitors will want to listen to your music tracks before production a purchase, so make sure your music band site template has an choice in order to have the ability to play your audio files. Concert Calendar Would like to let your website visitors know when you guys will be giving concerts? Than you will want some kind of gig managing plugin on the internet site. Your website will need to be able to show a number of details of all of your concerts, for example the place, time, date, etc. A map to the concert venue is also an added plus, one which your fans will love. Presenting the list of your gigs is foremost also, as well as giving your fans a place to talk about your passed concerts. Social Media, Facebook, iTunes, Myspace, Napster, etc. Social networks for instance Facebook and Flickr have got a superior influence on the net at present, and cannot be forgotten about. Look for a word press band template that uses social networking in some ways. For instance, Facebook Like and Share, and Twitter Tweet buttons should of course be added on every page of your website automatically, so that your site visitors may of course share your site with others. There's a lot of places online where you can submit things concerning your music group, for instance Twitter, iTunes, Myspace, LinkedIn, etc.. Being able to link to those out of your site, plus letting your visitors be aware of those profiles is of course a serious plus. Eye-catching form and Style Your group's internet site has to be eye-catching, I do think you can all agree with this. This is incredibly foremost for the success of any kind of internet site on-line, not just band websites. When shopping for the site template, ensure the style is all things you expect it to be. Do not be satisfied with second bests. When it is not of course all that good, quest elsewhere, until finally you find the standard style and design. You will want to make obvious you'll be able to customize the form also, by being able to add your band's institution logo form for instance. Furthermore, it is a good idea to buy a web theme where you can go for from a variety of style and form options. Content Control You're a musician and performer, not the coder. You don't want to learn Html code and Css, which is why you will want a band web site theme which is built on established content management systems, like WordPress. WordPress helps make the publishing of new pages and posts on the web site incredibly swift and effortless, beyond the management of old posts. Band Website Templates |

Seven Clues To strangeness Babylon in Revelation
| Seven Clues To strangeness Babylon in Revelation
From Fear and Fascination to Faith and Facts |
|
My first encounter with the book of Revelation was fear. Who didn't get a few chills running down their spine about the whole 666, the "mark of the beast," the seven plagues and this dramatic portrayal of the endtime? That fear kept me from wanting to know more about this book, though I was drawn to it. Then I stumbled over a study that made an keen versus fanciful media-hyped coming to the book. It addressed it as a coded message, but written to the first century church who were part of its history and time. That evidence focused on the date of the book. It raised and answered the question, was it written pre or post A.D. 70? Thirdly, an investigation of the internal evidence and alignment with other texts as commentary overruled the temptation to rely on imagination and the media. This was one of the most enlightening and satisfying decisions in my quest to understand the message of Revelation. What follows are a few keys that were convincing to me. What Is A Mystery? A strangeness is not something which cannot be known, but simply that which is not known until it is revealed. The seven points in this narrative are now a mystery, but if you read further, they will come to be manifest to you. In Revelation, "Babylon" is a code word for the strangeness city. The book is not about ancient Babylon nor modern day Iraq. Babylon was used as a sign to disguise in military-type code, the identity of the city. Why? It's because this city was marked for destruction. The political atmosphere of the day made it highly risky to speak openly of destroying this city, (Acts 6:14) especially by Christians who were viewed as its chief enemies. The preaching of Jerusalem's impending destruction led to Stephen's martyrdom, (Acts 7). Its association with ancient Babylon was its moral decay and idolatry. ancient Babylon's fall was precipitated by their pride and disrespect for God, the persecution of God's citizen and the profaning of the temple's holy vessels . Thus Belshazzar's feast led to the demise of his kingdom. Hence the term Mystery Babylon. 1. "The Great City, --Where The Lord Was Crucified) Further identifying Mystery Babylon as the great city (Revelation 17:18; 18:10), leads us to clue whole one. The great city of Revelation is identified as the city spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." (Revelation 11:8) Besides the actual city, there is only one city in the Bible ever referred to as Sodom. It is Jerusalem, (Deuteronomy 32:32; Isaiah 1:10). The description, where also our Lord was crucified is strong evidence pointing to Jerusalem. Further, it could not be that a prophet perish exterior of Jerusalem, Luke 13:33. Jerusalem was called the city of the great King. (Matthew 5:35) To the Jews it was the greatest city in the world. 2. The Golden Cup of Abominations The imagery of the filled cup of iniquity indicates that God's duration of longsuffering had run its course. Genesis 15:16 shows why God expelled the Amorites from the land in order that Israel might inherit Canaan. The conjecture he did not do so immediately was because the iniquity of the Amorites was not yet full. Their cup of sin yet had room for more and did not run its course until the time of the Exodus. Jesus spoke to the citizen of Jerusalem warning them that they would fill up the portion of their father's guilt in killing the prophets. See point #3. Paul says they had filled up the portion of their sins and would sense the arrival wrath. (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16). 3. God Would Avenge All The Righteous Blood Shed on Earth By Jerusalem. Mystery Babylon was guilty of shedding the blood of the apostles and prophets, (Revelation 18:20). However, God avenged the blood of the apostles and prophets. Not only was their blood be avenged, but God avenged all the blood shed on the earth on Mystery Babylon, (v. 24). Jesus staggering the same for Jerusalem. In Matthew 23:34-37, Jerusalem is charged with the blood guilt of all the righteous blood shed on the earth up to that time. Jesus would send more wise men, scribes and prophets whom he said they would scourge in their synagogues and persecute from city to city until he destroyed Jerusalem. It therefore matches perfectly with this description. 4. The "Mystery Babylon" Was Once a Queen. This identifies the city as having a contract association with God. Neither ancient Rome, nor any other modern city could appropriately be styled as God's wife. Through the Old Covenant, God was married to Jerusalem, (Jeremiah 2:14). Because of her unfaithfulness, God threatens divorce. While strangeness Babylon claims to be a queen, she is widowed. (Revelation 18:7) 5. The Antithesis of the Two Cities The dissimilarity of the two cities in Revelation are a strong clue to the identity of strangeness Babylon. After the great city, Mystery Babylon is destroyed, God blesses a New Jerusalem. That implies an Old Jerusalem. This is the same antithesis running throughout the New Testament expressed in covenantal terms. (See Galatians 4:24-26; Hebrews 8:6-13; 12:18-23). The new Jerusalem however is not an earthly city but one which comes down out of heaven ready as a bride adorned for her husband, (Revelation 21:1-3). Paul writes that the church is the bride of Christ, 1 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23-31, Hebrews 12:22, 23). The new holy city Jerusalem, takes the position as bride while the old adulterous wife receives death by fire. 6. Come Out of Her My People The call to God's citizen to come out of Mystery Babylon" (Revelation 18:4) further aligns with the ancient city of Jerusalem. Prior to its destruction, Jesus warned that his disciples should flee the city to avoid its plagues of destruction, famine and death. (Matthew 24:15-17; Luke 21:20-22). 7. Trodden Down of the Gentiles In Luke 21:24, Jesus remarks that Jerusalem would be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles were fulfilled. Unfortunately, today, many believe the Gentiles are rulers over the citizen of God. This is impossible as that duration ended in A.D. 70 when Rome destroyed Jerusalem. It was the time when all things written were concluded arrival to pass before that generation passed away, (Luke 21:22, 32). As old Jerusalem was once called the just and holy city, John prophesied that it was measured for destruction, (Revelation 11:2). Old Jerusalem Is A perfect Match Everything said about Jerusalem in the gospels, is symbolically described for Mystery Babylon in the book of Revelation. There are more contrasts and parallels but these should at least get one thinking. Fanciful and colorful charts as those presented by John Hagee and others will forever fail to properly identify the Mystery Babylon as long as they are pointed in the hereafter and toward some city or nation that has no antithesis with old Jerusalem. Further, a modern or gift day Jerusalem, does not descend from heaven and can never be the holy city of Revelation 21. The message and meaning of Revelation seems best and most precisely understood when one values the shortly to come to pass, time is at hand time parameter of the message retention it within a contemporary, historical setting of its first century hearers, (Revelation 1:1, 3. It may not frighten us as much, but it precisely encourages us with the message of faith, confidence in God's sovereign power and victory over the forces of evil. If You Have Love In Your Heart You Have all things
| If You Have Love In Your Heart You Have all things
The Love lesson in the Bible, First Corinthians 13, says it so plainly. When I was a young disciple I was required to memorize and convention this chapter. |
|
The essence of the lesson is that if you don't have love in your heart it doesn't nothing else but matter what else you can do. It won't mean a thing! Paul goes on to say, inspired of the Holy Spirit, the very spirit of love, even if you can speak in many distinct languages, or even in the language of angels, but if you don't have Love it is the same as the noisy, cold clanging of metal. No matter what you have suffered or sacrificed or given up,
"Charity (Love) suffereth long and is kind" Long suffering is one of the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22 and so is kindness. Longsuffering is exactly what it says. It suffers long and does not seek to retaliate and get even. It is kind. Charity (love) envieth not." You won't be jealous or envious of other population that have good things than you do or a good situation than you. "Charity (love) vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up." If you have love, you will not lift yourself above others or try to show how good you are at something than others. You won't be conceited and proud and think of yourself as being good than other people. "Doth not behave herself unseemly, seeketh not her own." You will act maturely in handling distinct problems and situations that come up, and you will think about the good, welfare and happiness of others before your own. "Is not nothing else but provoked, thinketh no evil." You will not be nothing else but angered by others to charge out at them and you will not even think evil about anyone. "Rejoiceth not in iniquity , but rejoiceth in the truth." You will not do wrong to others and will not be happy to see other population doing wrong things to others either. "Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." If you have been offended or hurt, you will forgive others and suffer it without feeling you have to get back at them for hurting you. You will have faith in population and trust them, even when it is difficult to. You will have a unavoidable outlook on the future, without worrying about what is going to happen, and you will be strong enough to feel hard times, trials and testings that you will experience without losing heart. "Charity never faileth: but either there be prophecies, they shall fail; either there be tongues, they shall cease; either there be knowledge, it shall vanish away." Love never fails. enough love can solve even the most difficult of problems. Even though there are many prophecies, they have come true or will someday so there will be an end to them at some time. Talking and arguing, debating, yelling and screaming, harsh and hateful words will all come to nothing. Even knowledge is not enough if you want to solve the problems of the world today. Every 5 years the world doubles it's knowledge but still it has not gained enough knowledge to solve the problems of civilization. The whole world is immersed in its problems and can't get out of them no matter how smart it gets. Nope, knowledge, technology, science, higher schooling etc. Are not solving the heavy serious problems of this world, in fact ,they are only getting worse! "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." The three things that mankind needs to survive is faith, hope and love. Humans cannot live without these things. These three suited components are capable of solving all the problems on this Earth, if mankind will only give them a chance! Even love alone can solve any problem if you give it a chance. The problem is that the world does not want to give love a occasion because that means they will have to forgive population who have wronged them. That means that they may have to give up some of the things they want in order to let others have them. That means they will have to be kind and cannot hate anymore. That is a very hard thing to do for most of the population in the world today who live their lives in so much bitterness, hate seeking revenge against their enemies! What was that Jesus said? "Love your enemies." Love is revolutionary! That is why they killed Jesus! He preached love! Love is the most suited revolutionary force because it says to love your enemies! It says to put down your weapons and hug your brother! In the following duct Jesus gives an instructions on how to love your brother.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what bonus have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Can we be perfect? If you have love, then you are exquisite and have the nature of God, and God is perfect! When we don't have love , of procedure we cannot be perfect. John said that exquisite love casts out fear. So even though we cannot be exquisite in this flesh, we can still have exquisite love, and that shows the nature of God. That shows that we are His children, and have the nature of our Father, the nature of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. What? You say you can't forgive your mom in law? You say you can't forgive your wife or husband or brother or sister, or father or mom or whoever messed up your life? If you cannot forgive them then you cannot have the love of God because only God's love can forgive. The key to a happy life, the key to health and healing, prosperity and blessing is love and forgiveness. The key to all of the opposites of those things are just the opposite, poverty, sickness, sadness, disunion from God, others and yourself, forever. God said that if you cannot forgive person for their sins against you neither will your Father in Heaven forgive you your sins, so that is a sad thing not to get your sins forgiven because you refuse to forgive person or someones.
get worse and worse. It is like a cancer that grows down deep and embeds its roots deep down in your heart. Like vines and weeds the roots grow and grow until they have spread everywhere and have come to be a part of your very nature and personality. You don't have to tell whatever about it, they can just see it on your face and hear it come out of your mouth. They can see it in your actions and words and the Bible says many will be defiled! Poisoned! Here is someone else duct where Jesus tells a story about person who had bitterness against person who owed him money and could not forgive him even though he himself was forgiven of his big debt of much much more! Matthew 18:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a unavoidable king, which would take inventory of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But for as much as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 The slave therefore fell down, and worshiped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 Then the lord of that slave was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. 28 But the same slave went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. 29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: 33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. That is a pretty precise warning and teaching! Stricter even than the Laws of Moses! After the man was forgiven of his huge debt he turns nearby and abuses the man who owed him much less and had him thrown into prison!
Because it is more evil to treat population with hate and bitterness than to owe person money and have a hard time paying it back. Yet population in the world Kill others for money, revenge, jealousy, hate, and seek justice to satisfy their own lust for power to see that person suffer they way they suffered. I know the feeling of wanting to get revenge. It was because I had forgotten all the wrong I had done, and only could see the wrong person else had done to me. I felt justified in finding that other person suffer for what they did to me and of procedure I could never have done whatever so horrible to whatever as they did to me! The truth was that I had, but I didn't see that then. I was too blinded by hate and bitterness to see. It is the same with Jesus forgiving our sins. How quick we are to judge and condemn others for their mistakes against us and are so blinded by hate and revenge that we fail to see that Jesus already forgave them on the cross! He also forgives them now! So if Jesus forgave them already but I refuse to forgive them, does that mean that I am more righteous than God because He forgave them but I want to hold on to the justice of the devil, and wish to see them crucified? You can argue up and down and turn over about it," Well they deserve it " or " well they broke the law" or " They must suffer like I did." But that does not make it the right thing. Jesus already said what the right thing to do was if you want to do the Godly thing, the loving thing. If you just don't want to do the loving thing, well that's fine, and it's your choice, but you cannot say you are a Christian and that you are in fellowship with God and others when you have bitterness and hate in your heart! John said that whoever hates his brother is a murderer! You wouldn't think of yourself as a murderer would you? But that is what the Bible says, so if you are a Christian but you are hating your brother or your mom - in - law, or have bitterness against person else, it will sway you and others nearby you in a very bad way. That bitterness and hate will rob you and others nearby you of happiness, joy, peace of mind and can lead to all kinds of thinking and health problems, and will be manifested in such things as arguing, violence, not speaking to each other, dirty looks, hateful deeds, not wanting to see that person, dreading or resenting that other person, wanting to see that person punished for what he or she did to you. That is not because you want to see justice done. It is because you were hurt sand now you think they deserved to be hurt the way you were, in fact even worse! You think no one deserves to be avenged like you do and there isn't whatever in the world who understands the hurt you went through like you do. If that happens to you then you know that is the warning sign. The danger signal that you had good get your heart right with that other person and God as soon as possible, or you won't be able to even sleep! Now do you nothing else but believe it that your bitterness is worth all that?

The Myth and Truth of Race - Time For the Other Side to the Story
| The Myth and Truth of Race - Time For the Other Side to the Story
Sometimes what citizen perceive as truth is in actuality a myth, and a myth brings up questions that cannot be answered, because they should never have to be asked. Religious citizen in particular have asked the question, "Where did black citizen come from?" And we can assume a Racist may ask the same inquire in a more negative context. |
|
One idea that has surfaced comes from Genesis 4:15. After Cain killed Able the Bible says that Cain felt insecure about life and God said, "Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold." and "the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest whatever looking him should kill him." Some have closed that this "mark" was black skin. Others have said that Genesis 9:25; "Cursed be Canaan; a slave of servants he shall be to his brethren." (This was a curse Noah located on Canaan for his father Ham's lack of respect.) It's been recommend that the citizen of Africa can trace their ancestry back to Ham, the apparent windup being that the black race has been in slavery more than any race in human history; therefore, it is closed that this curse was genetically followed into Ham's offspring. This curse however was located on Canaan, not Ham. Canaan's descendants were the Canaanites and they dwelt in what is now contemporary Israel (Genesis 9:15-19). Now let's see the evidence against both these theories. The question, "Where did black citizen come from," is not valid, based on scientific discoveries. In fact the inquire should be, "Where did citizen with blue eyes and blond hair come from?" A inquire like this has an answer, for a inquire like this is not rooted in a myth. Friends', this is an effort to interpret to you the genetic mutation that is the white, blond haired, blue eyed people. This is not a racial issue; this is about bringing to light some facts that may cause only a Racist or maybe a religious extremist to be uncomfortable. This is about truth, and the inquire is not being brought up so as to encourage any kind of hate. Scientists agree that the only race with an eye color other than brown is of Caucasian decent from some where in their blood line. According to new study citizen with blue eyes have a single, common ancestor. "Originally, we all had brown eyes," says Hans Eiberg from the department of Cellular and Molecular medicine at the University of Copenhagen. A particular personel not only caused the mutation of blue eyed people, but the mutation of the Caucasian race. A team of scientists tracked down the genetic mutation which they say occurred in the middle of six thousand and ten thousand years ago. They say the mutation affected the Oca2 gene, which is complicated in the output of the pigment that gives color to our hair, skin and eyes called melanin. "A genetic mutation affecting the Oca2 gene in our chromosomes resulted in the creation of a 'switch,' which honestly 'turned off' the capability to produce brown eyes," Eiberg says. The allowance of melanin in the iris of ones eyes dilutes brown eyes to blue. Eiberg and his team examined the Dna from mitochondria, the cells vigor making structures, of blue-eyed individuals in various separate countries. Since the genetic material comes from females, it can trace maternal lineages. Segments of ancestral Dna are shuffled over the policy of any generations, and the individuals have varying sequences. The segments that have not been reshuffled are called haplotypes, and if a group of individuals share long haplotypes, this means the sequence arose rather recently in our human ancestry. "What they were able to show is that the citizen who have blue eyes in Denmark, as far as Jordan, these citizen all have this same haplotype, they all have exactly the same gene changes that are all related to this one mutation that makes eyes blue," Hawks said in a telephone interview. "From this we can cease that all blue-eyed individuals are related to the same ancestor," Eiberg said. "They have all inherited the same switch at exactly the same spot in their Dna." In the January third online edition of the journal Human Genetics Eiberg and his colleagues detailed their study. This genetic switch somehow spread throughout the world, and the mystery still remains on how we come from a time not too long ago when everybody on Earth had brown eyes, and (because of an increased amount of melanin in the body), everybody had darker skin, to the present where twenty to forty percent of the citizen has blue eyes, blond hair and lighter skin tone. Is it not curious that Adolf Hitler was under the impression that blue eyes, blond hair, and white skin were attributes to the ultimate race? This is an curious inquire because scientists have discovered that individuals with lighter iris color have a higher prevalence of age-related macular degeneration (Armd) and an increased risk of Armd progression than those with darker iris color. Also there is an increased risk of unveal melanoma in citizen with blue or gray iris color. The "weakest nations", Hitler said, were those of "impure" or "mongrel races." Well what he determined to be the ultimate race was descended from a genetic mutation no more than ten thousand years ago. If what Hitler says about the weakest nations is true, then this would honestly not apply to those of African decent, for they are as pure blood as it gets. If what some religious citizen claim about a genetic curse or a mark on Cain is true, then this curse or mark would more likely be the white skin and lighter colored eyes, and without a doubt it would not be black skin and brown eyes, since citizen with black skin and brown eyes have always been colse to since human beings walked the Earth. This branch which has just been addressed may now be an issue to some of you, but hopefully some of you who didn't care before, are starting to. We all care about the truth, this is a certainty. If we don't care about the truth, and share the truth with others then we are being selfish, and should be held responsible for the ignorance of those colse to us. There are two sides to every story, and we've heard the one side that was used for years, now the other side has just been presented to you with scientific backing. We care about the kind of truth that is indisputable and not based off of stories told by vicious dictators or religious extremists, this is a truth that honestly can offer definite change to our world and is strongly encouraged to share with others. Guide to the Types and Styles of the Ukulele
| Guide to the Types and Styles of the Ukulele
The ukulele is a very small guitar that originated from an island in Portugal called Madeira. This instrument was called "braguinha" in Portuguese. In 1879, travelers took a ship from the island of Madeira to Hawaii. Craftsmen who witnessed this instrument being played were fascinated and began producing it for Hawaiians. The instrument was nicknamed "ukulele," which no ifs ands or buts means, "jumping flea." It is also called "uke" for short. |
|
Ukes are different from guitars in some ways. They are ordinarily very lightweight and easy to carry. Former style ukes are easier to learn to play because they have fewer strings. They are also easier on the fingers. Ukes are, however, wee in the range of notes that can be played. They are great for musicians who want simplicity! Today this instrument is still very popular in Hawaii and is being shipped to music lovers colse to the world. Let's take a look at the types and styles of ukuleles. Four Types of Ukuleles There are four appropriate types of ukuleles, which are concert, soprano, tenor, and baritone. The most generally used type is the soprano ukulele. Each type, except the baritone, is tuned using the customary tune/phrase "my dog has fleas!" This involves hitting the keys G, C, E and then A. The tenor type is one octave down from soprano. The baritone's tuning is concluded using this order of keys: E, B, G, D. There are also hybrid ukuleles being produced today, such as the banjulele (banjo body), taropatch (eight-stringed instrument) and ukelin. These specialty instruments are ordinarily advanced by individuals or specialty musical instrument companies. Some are even extremely collectible today. The soprano uke is the smallest at about 21 inches long. The concert uke is about 23 inches long. The baritone uke is 30 inches long, and the tenor uke is 26 inches long. The baritone and tenor ukes are more similar to regular-sized guitars, only with just four strings. Styles of Ukuleles Ukuleles may also come in a variety of styles, colors, and shapes to reflect the personality of the musician. Some examples of style variety are the Bushman ukuleles, which come in styles such as Jenny Soprano, Jenny Pineapple, Jenny Concert, Jenny Tenor, and Jenny Baritone. A ukulele maker might use a variety of high-quality woods to produce the instruments such as Mahogany to give the instrument a fantastic finish. The shapes of the instrument may vary as well. Some seem the quarterly guitar shape while others might be fully oval-shaped, similar to a pineapple shape, or have a piece "cut away" at the neck. Sparks Fly in Taylor Swift Concert at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field
| Sparks Fly in Taylor Swift Concert at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field
There are some artists out there who are great qualified to working in the studio. And, when it comes to live performances, they leave much to be desired. Taylor Swift is certainly not one of them. |
|
June 18, Taylor took her "Speak Now" Tour to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and performed in front of a crowd of an estimated 52,000 fans. And all in all, the show was remarkable and worth every penny. There were three opening acts together with Danny Gokey of American Idol fame, Randy Montana and South Carolina Country/Rock band Need to Breathe. Swift took the stage at about 8:45 to the resounding screams of adoring fans. Swift started the show with her hit "Sparks Fly" and from the very starting it was definite that this was going to be a big, theatrical production. In addition to belting out most of the titles featured on the "Speak Now" album, the country superstar delighted her audience with a few hits from the past together with "Our Song," "Love Story" and "Fearless." Swift went straight through a amount of wardrobe changes but didn't leave the crowd with the irritating downtime that sometimes comes with them. During wardrobe changes and changes to the set, fans were treated to instrumental renditions of her songs, a tap dancing chimney sweep reminiscent of an old Hollywood musical and the dance stylings of a excellent ballerina. Overall, the drama and artistry of the entire output came across practically as if it were a play with a remarkable storyline. But then again, I guess that shouldn't be surprising when the concert headliner truly writes her own songs. Possibly the most memorable parts came During the performances of her hits "Haunted" and the aforementioned "Fearless." While Swift had shown her mastery of discrete other instruments at separate points During the show, she used "Fearless" as an opening to showcase her skills with a ukulele while sitting under a immense white and purple glowing tree. And, with the scene set to compliment the tone of "Haunted," she forcefully pounded a large bell ringing out in accord with the song's qualified violin intro. Swift sang the fun and inspirational "Long Live" as her pre-encore show closer giving a shout out to the city of Pittsburgh. When all was said and done, the show was nothing short of amazing. While the operators of the venue itself could have been great prepared in terms of organization, every aspect of the show itself went off without a hitch. Never before have I seen such a wonderfully creative live performance. Sparks Fly in Taylor Swift Concert at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field |

Sowing Reaping and the Riches of Christ
| Sowing Reaping and the Riches of Christ
Remember this- a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a kind crop. You must each determine in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully". And God will generously contribute all you need. Then you will all the time have everything you need and abundance left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, "They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever." (2 Corinthians 9:6 Nlt) |
|
In this tube Paul is speaking to the church at Corinth and spirited to them to be generous, cheerful, prayerful givers. He pointed out the benefits and results of kind giving. Not only did this apply to the church at Corinth but also to us today. This is called, "seed faith giving", based on the principle and the promise from God that we reap what we sow. Giving back to God and reaping the benefits of kind giving is a matter of faith and believing His promises are true. Everything we have is not genuinely ours at all. everything belongs to God. Our home, our car, our enterprise even our house is a gift to us from God. He blesses by allowing us to use the things we need. Paul reminds us if we give a little we get a little. But if we give generously and with a cheerful heart God in turn blesses us generously. His blessings and provisions are not only in our material needs but in peace of mind and heart. The richness of blessings of love and joy are direct gifts from God. As Christians it is our inexpensive duty to give 10% of our income to His work on earth. Just as our income provides for the needs of our homes, our income provides for the needs of the church. In Old Testament times, in the book of Nehemiah, the population gave the first fruits of their income. They gave the first fruits of their crops. They brought wheat, wine, oil, flour and the first fruits of their crops. Today our first fruits are in the form of money. As Christians with hearts ready to serve we also give our time and service. We give our talents and our abilities. In turn, we receive God's blessings. Our motives for giving must be to freely and cheerfully give with no expectation of anything in return. If God never did anything else for me, He sent His only Son to die for my sins and that in and of itself would be sufficient to be forever a servant for Him. He saved me from hell, I owe Him everything. I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old. Music is a gift from God to me. The returning of it in aid to God is in accord with being a Christian He has also blessed me with the capability to write and this too I do for Him. It is inexpensive that we use the gifts He has so graciously given us to honor Him. Everyone is given talents and abilities. When given back in aid to God our talent will be blessed by Him. It is His promise to us. God never breaks a promise. The Scriptures are clear in regards to giving. "Don't be misled; remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it; a man will all the time reap just the kind of crop he sows." (Galatians 6:7 Tlb). Jesus Himself tells us, "For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. anything part you use to give-large or small-will be used to part what is given back to you."(Luke 6:38 Tlb) If you want favor with both God and man, and credit for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success. Honor the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income and He will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest wines. (Proverbs 3:5-10 Tlb) The message is clear-we harvest in proportion to our planting. In his message to the church at Corinth Paul offered them 3 guidelines for giving.
It is God who provides the means for us to be generous. Jesus tells us, "Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8 Kjv) The principle of giving is awesome in realizing God's abounding Grace His grace is more than sufficient for us. He is so full of love and grace towards us that not only does He replace the resources we spend in Christian aid but He multiplies them to the extent that at all times and in all things He provides all we need. These same principles of giving apply to businesses as well. 10% of any enterprise should be charity. I have seen doctors drive ,000 cars and live in million dollar houses turn away a sick person because they had no insurance. The promise of reaping what you sow takes on a terrific connotation for these self centered people. The idea is this, like Jesus said, the more we give, the more we get. We don't just give so we can get though. We give out of a heart of love for God and for others. The more we are blessed, the more we can bless person else. John Bunyan wrote, "A man there was and they called him mad; the more he gave, the more he had." Giving in such a heart felt way is a basic principle of the Christian life. We give because of what Christ did for us. population today just do not seem to be able to grasp the idea that God can and does multiply the kind giver's material resources. If you don't believe He does, try Him. Let Him prove it to you. Because of the evil in the world, the devil and his great deceptions, appearances seem to counteract the message of God. It seems as though the rich, who are often stingy with their wealth, get richer and the poor, who are normally cheerful givers, seem to get poorer. But the richness we are blessed with comes in many forms. These are called the "sevenfold riches of God" In the book of Isaiah episode 45:3 the Word of God tells us, "I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in underground places, so that you may know that I am the Lord. In studying the Bible and searching for these riches we can find the underground places:
Generous giving from the heart endures forever. It is never forgotten by God. Being a kingdom giver is storing up eternal treasures. The effects of your kind giving will supervene you from generation to generation. We can only fantasize the benefits that are laid up eternally. By meeting the needs of God's population we are in essence giving thanks to God for all He has done and all He will do. The speculate we give is to meet a need. But the extreme goal is to honor God with our giving. Because we know that all things good and perfect come from Him. When needs are met God is praised, the cycle of life from the giver. Be blessed and be a blessing. Sow a seed. Honor God Sowing Reaping and the Riches of Christ |
Brand Alchemy - Turning Lead Into Gold
| Brand Alchemy - Turning Lead Into Gold
He's the foreseen, Hulk. He's big, he's green and he's really, honestly angry. He is also the first of the considerable remake/sequels that Marvel Studios is putting out to reclaim the integrity of their brand. We all remember the first film by director Ang Lee. It was sharp, it was cool, the Cgi was good for its time, the "Hulk issue" was shown to be multigenerational and the movie had a mutated poodle...you see where I am going with this. Somehow, the first Hulk went off the rails. The new one, with Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, manages to pull the train back to where it belongs. |
|
The importance of Brand to the modern Superhero You see the same things happening with other superhero blockbusters. Iron Man, splendid Four, Spider-Man, The Punisher, and The X-Men; and on the Dc side of the comic universe, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. All of these are going back to the customary material in some way; all of them are being true to the characters as they were in the beginning. To put in order for his role as The Joker, Heath Ledger was given the comics that first introduced the character while the writer, David Goyer, based his work on the comic series Batman: the Long Halloween. They even consulted with Jerry Robinson, one of the Joker's co-creators, on how he should be portrayed. The result: A Joker that is not your giggling '60s era Cesar Romero "Clown Prince of Crime." Ledger's Joker is the remorseless, murdering psychopath fans first met decades ago. Why go straight through all of this? Why not modernize the stories and the characters? There are all sorts of creative citizen in Hollywood; honestly they can do a great job bringing the superhero into the 21st century. After all, we all liked Daredevil and Electra, and all those great made-for-Tv superhero movies based on these same comics, right? Wrong.
Being true to your brand means being true to who you are and what you and your firm stand for in the marketplace. The owners of these stories forgot that over the years, selling their characters and storylines-their product, their brand-to citizen who liked the face aspects of the characters but wanted to recreate what was under that veneer in their own images. The results were painful to watch and did more harm than good to the franchises involved. Some Ideas for Being True to Your Brand There are some lessons to be learned here; lessons that, if adhered to, will keep you and your brand afloat for a long time to come. Do Not Reinvent the Wheel These characters have been colse to for years, some for decades. Why is that? Spider-Man was born out of two things: fear of radioactivity and fear of spiders, neither of which have gone anywhere. The Hulk is something else. It is a retelling of a first-rate tale, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. True, it has updated story with modern technology but the tale of a scientist that experiments upon himself and becomes a monster is intact. What these examples tell us is that once you have something that works, you don't need to fiddle with it. By all means keep your brand current in the same way you would keep your goods or aid mix current, but convert for the sake of convert doesn't help and can honestly hurt you. Even when you think you have a good fancy to rebrand your business, you need to consider what you will gain versus what you might lose. After all, look at what happened to New Coke. Keep Focus One of the things that marks most super heroes is their tragic beginnings-the death of a loved-one, a devastating assault, a planet explodes, a horrific injustice that must be avenged-and the more monstrous the event, the more monstrous the hero. While the four Batman films of the '90s kept that initial tragedy, that initial trauma, the driving force that should have come from it was lost by the second film and we were more interested in the villains than in Batman himself. Why? We lost interest because there was no real focus on Batman and his fancy for existing. Focus was on the tragic beginnings of the villains. In fact, this was so bad that not even the introduction of Robin and Batgirl in the third and fourth installments could save it. The problem was that the seminal moment in the life of the main character was glossed over rather badly. The death of Bruce Wayne's parents was a fact, it was dealt with in a fairly perfunctory and superficial fashion and then Bruce was fighting crime in a heavy latex bat suit. Makes sense, right? Personal tragedy leads to nighttime, rooftop romps in black rubber. There seems to be a disconnect here. What are missing are the pain, angst and inner friction of the main character that leads him into that duplicate life. Instead, the films were all about action. Now, that's fine if your demographic is 12-year old boys (or adult boys with the mentality of 12-year olds), but from the point of view of sustaining a story-let alone a franchise-it doesn't hold up and things that don't hold up over time are not good for a brand. So, what does hold up? What hold up are all the aspects of your firm that differentiate you from your competitors; all that goes into supporting your brand. It is your goods mix, your service, your sell space, the way you interact with the society and with your customers and vendors. These are your core competencies and focusing on them means you are focusing on what sets you apart-you are focusing on your brand. Be Brilliant The third major episode we can take away from the up-to-date reinvention of the superhero adventure movie is the need to be, for lack of a good word, brilliant. One cannot conceive of Iron Man without Robert Downey Jr. Or The foreseen, Hulk without Edward Norton. Why is this? It is not adequate to naturally remark that in the scenes without them, the movie drags. It's not adequate because that is only a sign of a more general issue. By the way they play the characters, it is sure that these actors have made them their own, and that adds something intangible to the films, a quality that takes what might otherwise be a fairly pedestrian action-adventure film and makes it great. More than that, these films don't scrimp. The Dark Knight filmed at locations in England, Hong Kong and in Chicago because the filmmakers wanted all to be right. The computer technology they poured into it was top-of-the line as well. Why is that? To make money you have to spend money and nowhere is that homily more self-evident than in the movie business. The great ones spend what they need to do it right. That means location, equipment, actors, technical people, Cgi, props, costumes-everything. Doing it right is all part of your brand. In fact, it is a very large part of your brand that cuts over your products, your services, your output and manufacturing, your personnel and your management. In each of these areas, doing things right shows the world that you are fully dedicated to quality. That means you need the right people, citizen who take your firm as seriously as you do, the right products and materials and the right procedures and processes. When you get that mix right, stand back and put on some shades. The results will be brilliant. The lowest Line Keeping your brand on top takes work. It is not an advertising issue, or a marketing issue; it is a whole-business issue. Just as with the superhero brands that are dominating the movies this year, your brand must be reflected in all you do, from you personnel decisions to your office or sell space to your customer aid to your products and services. All of these things are your brand and you need to treat them as such. It isn't often that Hollywood teaches us something worthwhile, but this is something every firm owner needs to learn. It will be fun to see of J.J. Abrams has learned it with his upcoming Star Trek prequel. Of course, with Simon Pegg as Scotty, I have to wonder. Brand Alchemy - Turning Lead Into Gold |
